BROOKLYN BAKERY - Jerusalem, Israel

If you are tired of the standard array of Israeli baked goods (after all, most other bakeries in Israel use the same pre-made doughs and batters made by Pillsbury; they just bake them fresh on the premises) and you would like some "old world confections" (i.e. U.S. style baked goods), then this is the place for you. I liked the chocolate chip cookies (not too soft, not too firm, rather, just right!). The bund cake and danishes are good, too. The only problem I have had with them is the phone number listed online (02-********) doesn't work.

I came into Jerusalem from Raanana today and made a special stop to the bakery. They were gone. Apparently moved down the road but I could not find them and I was disappointed the address is not updated here. Was pretty annoyed to fight all the Friday traffic just to leave empty handed.
